I just received the June issue of the Icon Newsletter and it contains
screen shots of student projects from a graphics programming course
in which Icon was used. Several of the screen shots show windows
with 3D sculpted controls (buttons, scrollbars). How did they create
these controls? The Vidgets provided in the current version of the
Icon programming library don't seem to provide a 3D appearance....
The next release of the Icon Program Library, planned for this fall,
will include the 3-D vidgets and a 3-D version of VIB. The students
used an early version of this library to create their projects.
We also expect to package up a minor update of Icon itself that will
correct a few bugs and misfeatures we discovered over the past year.
That will also be ready sometime this autumn.
